ABOUT THE SHOW
Topics Include is an unapologetically trans podcast that seeks to create a space for trans people to gather through pro-Black, sex positive, and healing-informed conversations that are educational by accident and liberational by choice. It is hosted by Ianne Fields Stewart, L Morgan Lee, Samy Nour Younes, and Maybe Burke—four trans panelists who work at the intersection of art and activism. New episodes are recorded weekly and cover a broad range of queer topics. Be sure to check them out wherever you download your podcasts, and don’t forget: no matter what they’re talking about the most important topic to include is y-o-u!
Don't think of it as a hiatus, think of it as a... slow-atus? Samy is here to explain where the rest of the gang has been, and why our regular recording schedule hasn't been regular at all.
Reunited, and it feels so good! The four of us are back in the studio (or the “soundstage,” as you’ll soon find out) to check in with each other on how we’ve been doing. We also revisited a question from one of our listeners, on being a trans actor. This is the first in a multi-part series on trans acting, and focuses on our early education and training. Finally, we answer another Topic from the Inbox, on how to deal with loneliness in our industry.
Today, we’re joined by special guest Shanarrous Briggins-Pollard to talk through our conflicting emotions during Pride month, and how exhausting it is to always be looked at as an educational resource for the community. Other topics include: ideal relationships, how to “feel seen” as a stealth trans individual, and embarking on a new chapter of life.
We're baaack. Samy is in the studio with a special guest: trans actor, activist, and community mother Pooya Mohseni. We talk about her life and career, what Pride means to her, and we answer listener letters!
